Additional Information
After Pierre Celis's sold his Hoegaarden brand to Belgian giant Interbrew, he moved to Texas USA and founded a microbrewery in Austin in 1992. Celis Brewery was then purchased by Miller Brewing Company, and the brewery was closed in 2001. In 2002, Celis White and other brands were acquired by Michigan Brewing Company in Webberville, Michigan, which continued to produce the beers until it closed in 2012. In 2017 the original Celis Brewery was re-opened by Christine Celis, Pierre's daughter and her partner.
