The Boston Beer Company was founded in 1984 by James Koch and Rhonda Kallman. Thier first brand of beer was named Samuel Adams (often shortened to Sam Adams) after founding Father Samuel Adams.
In 1995 Samuel Adams began offering ciders and in 2012 The Boston Beer Company launched Angry Orchard from the Hard cider company based in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Over the years the brand identity is updated and re-launched with subtle changes, a change of Logo or a new font.
Sometimes this brand update is done by the new owners after a brewery has been sold, other times just to give the brand a fresh new look on the ever growing market.
