Additional Information

In 1992 brothers Bruce and Scott Williams started the Heather Ale Company, brewing and marketing their unique ale, Fraoch (brewed with heather) at the Craigmill Brewery in Strathaven, Scotland. Demands of production hastened a move to the much larger former Forth Brewery location in Alloa, a brewery with a long historical tradition. The firm purchased the Forth Brewery in 2004 and at the same time, changed to the name of Williams Brothers.

Over the years the brand identity is updated and re-launched with subtle changes, a change of Logo or a new font.
Sometimes this brand update is done by the new owners after a brewery has been sold, other times just to give the brand a fresh new look on the ever growing market.

Below are some notes to help identify some of these changes and an aid to reference the year of the glass.
