Additional Information
The ginger beer was created by a Scottish merchant named John Crabbie. Crabbie first imported ginger to make the beverage from the Far East into the port of Leith, Edinburgh in 1801. The method used by Crabbie is still used today. The original John Crabbie company went into liquidation in 1848. In 2007, the brand was aquired by the present owners, Halewood International who re-lunched the drink brand in 2009.

Over the years the brand identity is updated and re-launched with subtle changes, a change of Logo or a new font.
Sometimes this brand update is done by the new owners after a brewery has been sold, other times just to give the brand a fresh new look on the ever growing market.
Below are some notes to help identify some of these changes and an aid to reference the year of the glass.
