The Utenos Alus Brewery was founded in 1977 in Utena, Lithuania.
In 1997, the brewery became part of Baltic Beverages Holding (BBH) who in 2001, merged the Utenos Alus Brewery with the Švyturys Brewery. Since 2008 they have been part of the Carlsberg Group.
