The Wicküler Brauerei was founded in 1845 by Franz Ferdinand Joseph Wicküler in Elberfeld and was the leading brewery in Bergisches Land from the end of the 19th century until the end of the 20th century. From 1916 to 1971 the company was named Wicküler-Küppers Brauerei. Since 1992, the brand Wicküler Pils has been produced by the Dortmunder Actien Brewery on behalf of the Radeberger Group.

Over the years the brand identity is updated and re-launched with subtle changes, a change of Logo or a new font.
