The Lindener Aktien-Brauerei was founded in 1871 in Linden, which today is part of Hanover Germany. In 1925 the Gilde Brauerei (a traditional brewery and the oldest in Hanover) acquired the majority of the share capital of the Lindener Aktien-Brauerei and in 1968 they merged to form Lindener Gilde-Bräu AG. In 1997 brewing was discontinued in Linden and the brewery was demolished in August 2000.

Over the years the brand identity is updated and re-launched with subtle changes, a change of Logo or a new font.
Sometimes this brand update is done by the new owners after a brewery has been sold, other times just to give the brand a fresh new look on the ever growing market.
