The Hofmühl Brewery was founded in 1492 by the Prince-Bishop of Eichstatt
After the brewery was nationalised in 1803 it became a Private Brewery in 1876 and has been owned by the Emslander family.

Over the years the brand identity is updated and re-launched with subtle changes, a change of Logo or a new font.
