Additional Information
In 1874 Friedrich Giesler, founded his brewery in the heart of Brühl, (on the outskirts of Cologne.) It was a result of the merger with smaller breweries, including the former castle brewery. In 1998 it was taken over by the then Cologne Dom-Brauerei and completely demolished in 2005. In 2013 The Radeberger Group takes over the Dom brewery, which is already in the process of insolvency proceedings and the Giesler brand.

Over the years the brand identity is updated and re-launched with subtle changes, a change of Logo or a new font.
Sometimes this brand update is done by the new owners after a brewery has been sold, other times just to give the brand a fresh new look on the ever growing market.
Below are some notes to help identify some of these changes and an aid to reference the year of the glass.
