Bitburger brewery (Bitburger Brauerei Th. Simon GmbH) is a large German brewery founded in 1817 by Johann Wallenborn in Bitburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.
The Bitburger Brewery Group is made up of five German breweries:-

Over the years the brand identity is updated and re-launched with subtle changes, a change of Logo or a new font.
Sometimes this brand update is done by the new owners after a brewery has been sold, other times just to give the brand a fresh new look on the ever growing market.

Circa late 1980s
Quite big logo, extra glass above the "u" in Bitburger. The "Connoisseur" logo was introduced in 1929.
