Robinsons is a family-run brewery, founded in 1849 at the Unicorn Inn in Stockport, England. Robinsons have acquired a number of other breweries over the years, including:-
John Heginbotham, Stalybridge (1915)
T. Schofield & Son, Ashton under Lyne (1926)
Kays Atlas Brewery, Ardwick (1929)
Bell & Co, Stockport (1949).
The company took over Hartley's Brewery in Ulverston in 1982, closing it and transferring the brewing of Hartley's beers to Stockport in 1991.

Trooper Fear of the Dark - An English Stout first brewed in 2020
Over the years the brand identity is updated and re-launched with subtle changes, a change of Logo or a new font.
Sometimes this brand update is done by the new owners after a brewery has been sold, other times just to give the brand a fresh new look on the ever growing market.
