Beer has been brewed on this site in Manchester since 1875 and the Brewery has been named many times.
In 1875 it was known as the Albert Brewery (after Queen Victoria's husband). It was then sold and renamed the Moss Side Brewery.
In 1907 it was renamed the Royal Brewery in honour of King Edward VIIs visit to the city.
In 1933 it was renamed the Red Tower Lager Brewery.
It was bought by Scottish Brewers in 1956 and was renamed the Royal Moss Side Brewery in 1961.
In 2008 it was taken over by Heineken and is now known as the Manchester Heineken Brewery.

Over the years the brand identity is updated and re-launched with subtle changes, a change of Logo or a new font.
Sometimes this brand update is done by the new owners after a brewery has been sold, other times just to give the brand a fresh new look on the ever growing market.
