The Old Cannon brewery started life in 1845 with Fordhams of Ashwell, who brewed and owned pubs in the center of Bury St Edmunds.
The old brewery is now accommodation for the pub and brewing has taken place within the pub since 2000. 2500 pint batches are brewed on site with a focus on traditional English Ales
