The Davenports Brewery in Birmingham was founded in 1896 as John Davenport & Sons Brewery Ltd. Then from the 1st October 1974 traded as Davenports Brewery Ltd.
The Brewery was then acquired by Greenall Whitley & Co. Ltd in 1986 and brewing ceased in 1989.

Over the years the brand identity is updated and re-launched with subtle changes, a change of Logo or a new font.
Sometimes this brand update is done by the new owners after a brewery has been sold, other times just to give the brand a fresh new look on the ever growing market.
