Cotleigh Brewery began life in Devon in 1979, in the old stable block of Cotleigh Farmhouse at Washfield near Tiverton. In 1980 the brewery moved to the historic brewing town of Wiveliscombe in Somerset where William Hancock started brewing in 1807.

Tawny Owl Bitter - First brewed in 1979
Commando Hoofing - Launched in 2010 as "Somerset Commando Hoofing", The name was changed in 2011 to just "Commando Hoofing".

Over the years the brand identity is updated and re-launched with subtle changes, a change of Logo or a new font.
Sometimes this brand update is done by the new owners after a brewery has been sold, other times just to give the brand a fresh new look on the ever growing market.
