The brewery was founded as the Oulton Brewery by Henry Bentley in 1828. In 1893 it was renamed the Eshaldwell Brewery. The brewery was acquired by Whitbread in 1968 and closed down four years later in 1972. Not sure who continued to brew these beers after its closure.
