The Vandenheuvel brewery was founded in the 1840s as Brasserie Saint Michel in Molenbeek Belgium. It was renamed Brasserie Vandenheuvel of Molenbeek, in 1920. In the late 1960s the Vandenheuvel brewery was bought by Watneys (England). In December 1974 Watneys closed the Brewery.
